For Our Current Parents

Parents & Families

A child is a gift and a responsibility. We love to be with them, but we also have to provide for the well-being of our families. Many parents must rely on child care on a daily basis, and leaving your child with someone else is a necessary but often difficult decision. We invite you to consider the advantages of the Bloom experience.

Bloom Early Learning & Child Care is a special place that loves and nurtures all children. A place where children from 6 weeks to age five learn and grow. A place where children and families thrive and bloom. A place that makes quality child care affordable for the children of low-income families through scholarships and financial assistance. Our unique blend of scholarship and private pay families fosters a diverse body of kids and families, and an opportunity to strengthen our community.

Parent Resources

At Bloom Early Learning, we believe that strong families build strong communities. Our commitment to children, families and the community is met in part by offering parents the support and resources needed to give their children a great start in life and a bright future.

On a regular basis, our centers offer parent education sessions on child development and health. Additionally, we encourage our Bloom parents to look to the following information sources for valuable insights on raising happy, healthy children:

  • NAEYC(National Association for the Education of Young Children) Research-based resources, tips, and ideas for families—from child development to reading, writing, music, math, and more!
  • Parent Aware – Offering free tools and family support resources to help families find quality early education and community-based services that assist and support parents to help provide their children with what they need to succeed in school and life. A comprehensive list can be found at www.parentaware.org.
  • Help Me Grow MN – Information about how to help young children develop, learn and grow.
  • Center on the Developing Child – Research on early childhood, brain architecture, and more. Videos to help break down key concepts.
  • Mom Enough – Mother and daughter duo Marti and Erin Erickson lead a conversation about the place of mothers in the family, the community, and the world at large and invite all mothers to join the discussion.
  • Zero to Three – Outstanding resources for parents seeking information about early development and well-being, early learning, and parenting their infant through toddler-age children.

Bloom Parent Communication & Involvement

Parents who desire a safe, healthy, loving place for children to blossom will rest easy at Bloom. Starting with our infant program, where teachers nurture each individual budding personality, all the way through our preschool program, where children are being prepared for kindergarten and beyond, nothing matters more to us than the wellbeing and promise of every child that enters our doors.

In the Bloom family, parents play an integral role in their child’s care and early learning experience. Parents are kept abreast of daily and weekly events in the classroom along with weekly lesson plans.  Our monthly theme-based lesson plans offer many opportunities for follow-up, integration and reinforcement at home.

Parent-teacher conferences, monthly newsletters and family events are communicated via teachers, emails, hand-outs, and newsletters.  Ongoing child assessments are conducted on a regular basis and consist of developmental checklists and anecdotal records in order to gain a comprehensive and in-depth look at each child’s development and progress.
