Ways to Help Children Bloom
For many single mothers and low-income families, meeting the high cost of quality childcare is simply impossible. Their children are at risk of entering kindergarten unprepared to succeed and already at a disadvantage in life.
Did you know that there are currently over 500 children under the age of 5 living in poverty in the Plymouth/Wayzata area who need financial assistance in order to get quality child care? Bloom’s mission is to help break the cycle of poverty right where we live. We want our exceptional and nurturing program to be available to all children — that’s why we created a community-funded scholarship program and then dedicated half our enrollment to those needing financial assistance.
Bloom’s unique 50/50 blend of scholarship and private pay families fosters a wonderful and diverse combination of kids and families, and an opportunity to strengthen our community. Since 2000, Bloom has served 1090 children; 484 of those received tuition assistance. We are grateful for the generous support of individuals, organizations and the community.
